TWO THINGS FOR PARENTS TO READ AND TAKE ACTION FROM KATHY WEIDENBAUM

1)  Kathy Weidenbaum (Parent Prod Asst) will be collecting money from cast/crew members on Thursday and Friday of this week to buy nice director(s) gift(s) and for the cast to buy gifts for the crew. Please send in a check or preferably cash with your student (check made out to me is fine, Kathy Weidenbaum).  Suggested amount is around $10 or more, or whatever you can swing. This production is outstanding.  We owe a big thanks to our professional directors and the crew.

2)  The following explains what happens after closing night performance:

The crew performs a tongue-in-cheek performance for the cast -- a comical, mock version of the production. This crew performance contains material that parents may find offensive. But it's all in fun, and filled with "insider" type jokes for the cast/crew.  I advise parents NOT to attend this mock performance.  It's really all about and for the students. Then, the cast does a presentation of gifts to the director and crew. Jim always closes the onstage party with, "Make good decisions at your next destination."  We want students always to be careful and smart about everything after they leave the school grounds.

After the closing celebration at school, there's usually an all-night cast/crew party at one of the cast or crew member's house. This party is not a school-sponsored event. The families in the past who host these parties have always been very proactive and responsible about creating a no drinking, no drugs, and no sex venue.

The students are full of energy after closing.  They really enjoy spending time together at the all-night party.  It's all part of the theater experience at Lincoln, and helps them emotionally close down the show after being a big family for a couple of months.  Just so you know ......not every parent allows their student to go to the party, or they may allow their student to go to some of the party, but not spend the entire night.  This is a decision between you and your student. Your decision is respected.

Friday - No Calling For Line

During this Fridays run-through actors will not be allowed to call "line" and will not be corrected if their line is wrong.
